New Summer Menu

New Summer Menu

Our fish is fresh, local and sustainable, it is also seasonal. This summer, as we do every year, we've updated our menu to reflect the species available now. Alongside our Rockfish classics we’ve introduced some new seafood for you to enjoy and brought back some favourites that you’ve been asking for, but that’s not all.

We want to give you more choice than ever this summer. Rather than us decide which sauce to have with which fish that’s now up to you, and we’ve got even more delicious side dishes to pick from. If you’re in the mood for chips (we often are) they’re here, but we’ve also got fresh greens, perfectly in season new potatoes and heritage tomatoes.

Start as you mean to go on

To accompany a glass of fizz or our High Tide Negroni this summer we’ve got some new additions to our appetiser menu. Wonderful, pickled anchovy fillets bring a Mediterranean flavour (and are great with a cold beer) and as an alternative to our anchovy mayonnaise with your sourdough we’ve got a new flavoured butter, made with 3 types of local seaweed bringing the zingy aromas of the sea direct to your plate.

Local landings

Summer means a change in the species that land every day in Brixham so expect fresh local brown crab, Devon lobsters, ling, sprats and a summer favourite, sardines that are incredible chargrilled. As always, our local landings change every day and your server will talk you through what we’ve got, and how it is prepared.

Seasonal side dishes

We have wonderful seasonal produce in the UK, and this summer we’re taking advantage of that with our side dishes. Local new potatoes at the height of their season are a sheer delight with fresh fish. Samphire, sometimes called sea asparagus that grows by the coast is simply sauteed in olive oil, and incredible Isle of Wight tomatoes are so fresh they need nothing more than a light dressing and a few fresh herbs. Our green salad has had an upgrade for the summer too and we’ve got a brand-new classic Caesar salad.

More choice than ever

We understand that some days you’re in the mood for chips and the zingy hit of lime pickle, others you fancy a fresh green salad and the classic flavours of a Béarnaise. That’s why we’ve introduced more choice than ever to our menu. Our locally landed seafood will be cooked to order as always with just a drizzle of olive oil and lemon, and you can then add on your favourite sauce if you wish. Our wonderful fresh cut chips are still on the menu, and you can still get them unlimited if that’s what you fancy. If you don’t, we have plenty of new seasonal side dishes for you to try.

Rockfish classics

We’ll never turn our back on our classic award-winning fish and chips. Because of global supply issues we may be taking a break from serving cod but being based in Brixham we have access to plenty of fabulous fish to fry. Line caught haddock comes in two sizes and we’ve also got local hake, both served with fresh chips, homemade tartare sauce and pickle. In the starters, our Rockfish roasted scallops maintain their favourite spot alongside Brixham calamari, whitebait, prawns and our tinned British seafood.

The return of your favourites

Our turbot T-bones have proved incredibly popular and are in abundance at the moment, so we’ve moved them to our main menu, perfectly roasted and served with Bearnaise mayonnaise. After much demand from our customers, we’ve also brought back the firecracker chicken burger with Singapore chilli sauce.

We look forward to welcoming you soon to enjoy our brand-new summer menu.
