Sea Life & Seafood days out in Plymouth

Sea Life & Seafood days out in Plymouth

Known as Britain’s Ocean City, there’s no better place to discover more about the UK’s diverse marine life than in Plymouth. Both Plymouth Sound’s National Marine Park and National Marine Aquarium have some fin-tastic events and experiences on offer to help immerse you in the world of oceans, sea life and more.

If you're looking for one of the best days out in Plymouth, then look no further than the National Marine Aquarium - the UK's largest Aquarium and home to the Ocean Conservation Trust.

See a whole new side to the aquarium with their new VIP Behind the Scenes Tours. Available daily between 12-1pm, you’ll get to explore key areas that are normally unseen by the public and learn first-hand from one of our Ocean Discovery Rangers how they keep over 6 million litres of water clean, and feed over 4,000 animals. Tickets are £10 per person - you can book online on their website.

For one of the most memorable days out in Plymouth, you could choose to book the National Marine Aquarium’s Snorkel at the Aquarium experience, which gives you the opportunity to hop in the tank with stingrays, sharks and Green Turtles! This experience is £200 for up to two people, and is bookable on the National Marine Aquarium’s website: www.national-aquarium.co.uk

The National Marine Park is also running some unique days out in Plymouth, including a See Fish and Seafood event, which incorporates the National Marine Aquarium’s VIP Behind the Scenes tour of the National Marine Aquarium with an Ocean Discovery Ranger, followed by a delicious lunch at Rockfish.

This exclusive day out includes:
  • Entry to the National Marine Aquarium
  • A free annual return pass on arrival
  • A VIP behind the scenes tour with an Ocean Discovery Ranger
  • Award-winning Fish and Chips at our Rockfish Restaurant (next door to the National Marine Aquarium on Sutton Harbour)
Tickets are £62 per person. Head over to the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park’s website to find out more and book: www.plymouthsoundnationalmarinepark.com

If you’re visiting the National Marine Aquarium in the afternoon, then you can enjoy fish and chips for only £5 next door at the Sardine Bar everyday this summer (ends 31st August) between 4-6pm. Grab a drink too and sit out on our deck overlooking the harbour. The perfect way to round off your day out.
