Things are different from now on as the world adjusts to new norms and we've made some positive changes to enhance the Rockfish experience, follow the government guidelines and make your dining experience easy and safe, yet still special. For many, our Rockfish service is the highlight of a visit and we are taking all the necessary measures to deliver minimum contact, ensure that the highest hygiene standards and safe distancing are maintained, without losing the magic.

We are aiming to offer you both indoor & outdoor seating at each location where possible, if space and safety allow. We are working hard to adapt each of our restaurants so stay tuned for updates on as we'll be sharing more exciting plans and details on each location very soon.

Do I have to wear a mask inside?

 Yes. Everyone must wear face coverings upon entering and leaving the building and visiting the toilets. Please wear them at all times whilst walking around the building, you may remove them once you're seated at your table.  All restaurant staff will be wearing face coverings. 

Do I need to wear a mask if I'm sitting outside?

Yes. Everyone must wear face coverings upon entering and leaving Rockfish and visiting the toilets. Please wear them at all times whilst walking around both inside and outside, you may remove them once you're seated at your table to eat and drink.  All Rockfish restaurant staff will be wearing face coverings. 

Will I be temperature checked?

Yes, all guests and staff are temperature checked upon arrival using a non contact device that measures the skin temperature on the forehead.

Are you taking my details for Track & Trace?

Test & Trace Details
The NHS Test & Trace App
 : Restaurants are now required to take contact details of the lead guest dining with us. Guests may either use the NHS test and trace app by downloading here it before you arrive and scanning your phone at the QR code on arrival or alternatively provide the restaurant host with your contact details to pass on to the NHS. The NHS recommends to help protect yourself and others for all individuals to get Test & Trace app. The app notices and logs other nearby app users. If any of those later test positive for coronavirus, you'll receive an alert with advice. You can use it to scan official NHS QR codes and easily check in to places you visit.

Do I need to have the NHS App before I arrive?

We recommend you download it before you visit as it's the simplest way to keep your loved ones safe and for the NHS to collect your details. When you arrive you scan the QR code upon entering and it's all done! Or alternativley provide the restaurant host with your contact details to pass on to the NHS if you do not wish to use your phone or the app.

What time do you close?

We close at 10pm. The latest time for booking is 8.30pm which gives you 1.5 hrs to enjoy your meal

I’m in a wheelchair are there provisions for disabled access?
Yes. Our tables have been positioned at a distance of 1.5m from each other. We have reduced the number of tables in the restaurants, and there is plenty of space to manoevre.

Can we sit inside?
Yes from May 17th.

We permit bookings of tables up to a maximum of 6 people from two households in order to keep our staff and customers as safe as possible. 

Can we sit outside?

We have outside seating which is not available to book, you can just turn up on the day. Find out more here >

For dining outside bookings are limited on gatherings up to 6 people only.


Are you open for both lunch & dinner service?

Yes, with social distancing measures in place.

How do we pay?
We would like to encourage cashless payments, we have digital ordering and paying with new app. It’s all contactless.

Will you accept cash?
Yes we will accept cash if necessary, but would really prefer to remain cashless / contactless if possible.

Can I tip the staff without cash payments?
Yes, tips can be processed via the card machines and digital payments.

My voucher expired during lockdown can I extend it?
Yes you can. We will honour vouchers that expired during lockdown and extend them. Please email: team@brookfielddigital.co.uk

Can we park close by?
Yes, there are Pay & Display car parks within walking distance.

We are not currently running a take away service from Plymouth restaurant, however we do have an outside seating area from which you can order and pay via The Rockfish App.

Do you have any private dining areas?
We have private dining areas in our Brixham & Poole Sites

Can I hire a private dining for my family bubble?
Yes, our private dining areas will still be available to hire for tables up to 6 people. Please check with your local site here for availibility. 

Whats the maximum number of people I can book for? 
Our current Rockfish policy is 6 people from two households.

Where is your fish coming from now some fishing boats are on lockdown?
We will be supplied fish from our own boat  ‘Rockfisher” and from Brixham Fish Market. Fishermen are still allowed to go out and fish providing they adhere to social distancing measures and often with only 2-3 people on board this is easily done.

Is Brixham Fish Market still open?

Can we order our meal to take home?
We are not currently running a take away service from the restaurants. We have takeaways at Dartmouth & Brixham.

Will people be allowed to smoke outside?
No. There is no smoking on site.


I’d like to bring my baby. What’s your cleaning policy on highchairs?
Our highchairs are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after each use before being made available again.

Are children allowed in the restaurant / outside?
Children are allowed both inside and outside . We do ask parents to help us keep this a safe space for everyone and ensure your children stay at your table.

We have changed the layout to create more space by moving tables 1.5m apart. Bookings are now taken in smaller groups of maximum number of 6 inside.

We've reduced human contact by implementing digital ordering and paying via a new Rockfish app. We have implemented rigorous staff sanitising regimes and daily deep cleans in kitchen. We have a Covid monitor on duty at all times who's sole purpose is to ensure guidleines are adhered to by all so that we can keep everyone safe. There are carefully managed entry and exit points, queue management and clearly marked floor areas. 

I’m worried about being near a crowd and sitting close to lots of other people. How will Rockfish prevent this?
Our tables have been positioned at a distance of 1.5m from each other. We have reduced the number of tables in the restaurants, and limited the number of people per booking to 6 people from two households. 

As standard on site we will always have a member of the team as a dedicated 'COVID monitor" who's sole purpose is to keep you safe. 

Will your staff wear PPE?
Yes face coverings are worn by all front of house staff.

How often are your staff washing their hands?

Our staff will be washing their hands as often as possible, as well as carrying their own personal sanitisers for more regular use. We have indoor and outdoor sanitising stations available and and outdoor hand washing facility available in Plymouth.

Will you have hand sanitiser available?
Yes, hand sanitiser stations will be available on all entries and exits, and throughout the restaurant. 

I don’t want staff or chefs touching my food - what are you doing to prevent this?

We have put extra measures in place to ensure the safety of our guests, if you have any particular concerns please let your server know.

Can COVID be transmitted through food?
It is very unlikely that you can catch coronavirus from food. COVID-19 is a respiratory illness. It is not known to be transmitted by exposure to food or food packaging. For more information visit:


Will you still have salt & pepper on tables/ condiments? How will you keep these safe?
We will still have salt and vinegar and other condiments available on request. These will be regularly sanitised, or sachets will be available

How will your staff be able to serve our food and stay at a safe distance?
Our staff will spend minimum time at a guests table. All front of house staff wear face masks. We have a new app for outside tables through which you can order your food & drinks via your phone which is quick and simple to use. When your server delivers your food they will be wearing a mask and stand 1.5m away and pass it to you safely.
