How it works

When you dine with us, there's an optional £1 donation on your bill. On its own, a pound doesn't do much. But when thousands of guests across our restaurants each give one, something remarkable happens.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests, Rockfish supports local charities, community projects and inspirational people doing brilliant things close to home: in the harbours and seaside towns where you'll find us, and where many of our team live too.

You give the pound. We give the time, care and coordination to make sure it lands where it matters, building relationships with local causes and following the impact through.

And if you'd rather not add the £1, that's absolutely fine. Just let your server know and it comes straight off, no questions asked.

Why we do it

A seafood restaurant is only ever as good as the town around it. The fishing families who land the catch, the volunteers who keep the beaches safe, the festivals that fill the harbours, the quiet organisations doing important work without much fanfare: these are the things that make our seaside towns worth visiting, and worth living in.

We've always believed a restaurant should be part of its community, not just in it. The £1 scheme is the simplest way we know to act on that belief. It turns something small, a pound added to a bill, into something none of us could do alone: real, lasting support for the people and places we call home.

Meet Andree: the person behind the pound

Italian-born Andree knows a thing or two about hospitality. She's worked in it since 2006 and spent almost twelve years with Rockfish, starting as Assistant Manager in Brixham before rising to General Manager and then Area Manager. All along, it was the community side of the business that pulled at her: the local charities, schools and clubs she got to know in the towns she looked after.

That passion grew until Mitch made it official, creating a dedicated Community Liaison role so Andree could support community projects across every Rockfish. Today she's the one who meets the charities, listens to what they actually need, sorts the logistics and follows the impact through, making sure every pound of our guests' generosity lands where it will do the most good.

Her favourite part? Supporting the volunteers. "They always thank us," she says, "but I often feel it's actually our communities that should be thanking them. It's a privilege to play a small part in helping them."
