A huge, majestic fish the Turbot is often called the king of fish and is the larger cousin of the Brill. Turbot flesh is firm, juicy and lives up to its regal reputation.
This fish is a large portion for one, but could be big enough to serve two smaller appetites.

A nice shift on the market this morning with Dover sole back after a few months away spawning. Always one people gravitate towards when it returns and worth a look if you’ve been waiting for it.
The Disco scallops are still coming through in good numbers and represent solid value, and there’s plenty of Chalkstream trout about too. The smoked haddock has come out of the kiln well, and there’s a good run of South West shellfish on the counter to round things off.
With 2,500 portions across 26 species it’s one of those markets where everything feels nicely in place as we head towards the weekend. Eat better fish.
