The Quayside Grill: A British Seafood Feast for Two

The Quayside Grill: A British Seafood Feast for Two

We're passionate about bringing you the freshest, most delicious sustainable seafood, and no dish embodies that better than a Mixed Seafood Grill. Designed for two to share, it's a celebration of British waters, and it's bursting with flavour.

What's in the Quayside Grill?

A feast of hake, cuttlefish and scallops, plus a fourth fish chosen by the chef: whatever the tide brings in that day, always fresh. Everything is grilled to perfection and finished with a generous drizzle of garlic butter. Every bite is dangerously moreish. You may start off polite, but by the last scallop, negotiations are entirely optional.

And every piece of it is British. This is a dish built entirely from our own waters, which is exactly how we think a seafood grill should be.

A note about the scallops

Our scallops are always pot-caught Disco Scallops or hand-dived, never dredged. Dredging is a fishing process which involves dragging heavy chained nets along the seabed. It can be highly destructive, damage marine habitats, catch a large amount of bycatch and release carbon from the seabed. Pot-caught "disco" scallops and hand-dived scallops leave the seabed as they found it. You get a sweeter, plumper scallop, the seabed gets left in peace, and these methods support smaller scale artisanal fishermen - so everybody wins (especially you!)

Why is it chargrilled?

We believe in simple cooking that lets the quality of the seafood shine. Chargrilling gives the fish a wonderful smoky char while keeping it moist and tender, and with fish this fresh, smoke, fire and garlic butter are all the seasoning it needs.

How much is it?

The Mixed Seafood Grill is £38.50 per person, designed for two to share. Find it on the menu at your local Rockfish.

How to Make a Seafood Grill at Home

Inspired to fire one up yourself? Our online seafood market has everything you need, landed at Brixham Fish Market and delivered to your door next day, so the fish on your grill is as fresh as the fish on ours.

Build your own around firm, meaty fish like monkfish, or grill shellfish like Disco Scallops, prawns or whole Devon lobster. Gurnard is another brilliant fish for the grill. Or keep it simple and pick out the same seafood we use in ours.

One golden rule: don't overcook. Seafood cooks quickly, so keep a close eye on it. The fish is done when it's opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Whether you savour it at one of our restaurants along the Devon and Dorset coast or recreate it at home, the Mixed Seafood Grill is a true taste of the sea. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
