Management - Career PathMany of our talented managers are home grown and started with Rockfish as Front of House Waiting staff. If you have what it takes to deliver and exceptional experience to our guests, we will support your development through our Manager in Training program. The training covers everything you need know in the day to day running of the restaurant floor whilst on the job, giving you time to develop your soft skills as a manager of people. When you are fully trained and ready for the next step, you will be progressed Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager or Assistant General Manager. Once you have put all your learned skills in to action and proven yourself as a talented leader, experience gained at this level will put you in good stead for progression to General Manager. Our Area Managers have excelled as General Managers proving they can create teams that deliver an exceptional experience for our guests whilst managing budgets and delivering profitability.
Chef Career pathWhilst you’ll ideally have some experience, there is no requirement for a formal qualification to start your career journey. As a Chef de Partie you will be working under the guidance of some of our great chefs, where we will train you in all sections of the kitchen. From here we will support your development to Junior Sous Chef and onto Sous Chef and Senior Sous Chef. By this stage you will be able to oversee the junior chefs, lead by example and confidently run the daily operations of a busy kitchen. When you have nailed everything it takes to run a successful kitchen, you can take the next step to Head Chef, Senior Head chef or Area Head Chef.
Rockfish QuaysideIf working directly on our restaurants or takeaways isn’t for you, we have a thriving Quayside business where seafood is sold either from our Rockfish fishmongers or prepared ready to cook for our online seafood market. Our fish market is located in Brixham fish market which lands 40 different species of fish throughout the year from the fishing fleet.
We love seeing people progress within Rockfish, learning and developing as they work with us. We aim to give everyone the best tools & support they need - in the forms of internal and external training and workshops so they can grow with us.
