Chef Careers
From prep to Head Chef — we’ll help you get there.
You don’t need formal qualifications to start your journey. As a Chef de Partie, you’ll work alongside experienced chefs, learning every section of the kitchen, from grill to garnish. From there, we’ll help you move up to Junior Sous, then Sous and Senior Sous Chef. When you’ve got what it takes to lead, you’ll be ready for Head Chef and beyond. Our Area Head Chefs are Rockfish-grown; proof that with commitment and support, you can rise right through the ranks.
Management Careers
Great managers aren’t found — they’re made.
Many of our most talented managers started out as front of house crew. If you’ve got the drive to lead and deliver an exceptional guest experience, we’ll invest in your growth through our Manager in Training programme. You’ll learn on the job while developing your leadership and people skills, moving into roles like Assistant Manager or Restaurant Manager when you’re ready. With experience and results, progression to General Manager — and even Area Manager — is a well-supported next step.
Rockfish Quayside - Working with the Freshest Fish in Britain
Our Quayside business is where a lot of the magic happens. From our own Rockfish fishmongers to packing and processing order for our Online Seafood Market, this team works directly with the fishing fleet, handling over 40 species of fish throughout the year. Based in Brixham, the heart of Britain’s seafood industry, roles at Rockfish Quayside are perfect if your skills lie behind the scenes.
Training & Development

Every new crew member starts with a personalised training plan. You’ll learn on the job, build knowledge through e-learning, and take part in regular workshops on everything from wine and seafood to leadership and sustainability.
We also use Workplace, our internal platform, to stay connected and share ideas, stories and resources, keeping development continuous, and culture strong.
