Seafood restaurant in Sidmouth
The historic Drill Hall, brought back to life with seafood, sunlight and sea views.
Set on Sidmouth's grand Esplanade, just steps from the pebbled beach and red sandstone cliffs, our newest Rockfish sits inside the town's much-loved Drill Hall. After standing empty for years, this beautiful old building has been carefully restored and given a new purpose, its exposed brick, high ceilings and original character preserved, with sunlight pouring in through new windows that open the hall up to the sea for the first time in generations.
With sweeping views of the Jurassic Coast just beyond the glass, it's a place that feels unmistakably Sidmouth: timeless, full of charm, and somewhere to watch people enjoying the beach and esplanade. Inside, our crew serve up our signature sustainable seafood, landed that morning in nearby Brixham and cooked simply to order.
Sidmouth has always known how to do the seaside properly, from Regency terraces to the Folk Festival filling the town each summer, and we're proud the Drill Hall is part of its story again. Come for lunch after a walk on the Esplanade, settle in as the light changes over Lyme Bay, and see the old hall alive once more.
