Spider crabs, notable for their considerable size and spiky exoskeleton, are abundant along Cornwall's coast. These crustaceans can reach a claw span of up to 80 cm. Their claws are filled with succulent, moist white meat, which is highly valued as a delicacy in Spain and France, though it remains underappreciated in the UK despite its delectable flavor. Harvested by hand from the ‘Cornish King Crab,’ this mildly sweet, moist, and delicately flavored white spider crab meat offers a distinguished alternative to traditional white crab meat.
Free from artificial additives or preservatives, only a touch of natural rock salt is used during cooking.
